Big Chop

Well on April 4th, I did it…Yes, you guess it.  I did the Big Chop and boy was I nervous.   It was liberating and I felt so free.  My kinky twist matted my hair; therefore, I had no choice but to BC before my June date.  At first, I thought that I look like a boy, but the more I played with my hair and looked in the mirror, the more I fell in love with it.

Some of my family members, don’t like it, but I do and that is all that matters.  I will rock my fro for about a month and then, I will go in and get coils.  I want to rock the coils for about two weeks, then do a coil out (yes, I can’t wait).

Transitioning Part 2

I transition first with a roller set.  I like it a lot, therefore, from November until January this will be my style.  I will get braids in January.  I didn’t like them that much and only kept them for about three weeks.  In February, I got Kinky Twist and kept them for two months.  I enjoyed having the Kinky Twist.  During the time of my roller set days, I saw waves (not curls, but waves).  I did not get too excited though, because I know that those waves may not be my true textures.

Transitioning

I Rock, I’m Empowered, I’m Strong, I’m Beautiful, I’m Sassy, I’m a Black Women who Rocks!!!

My transition is going great.  I'm currently washing my hair with Organix Coconut Poo and Condish.  Then I use Dr. Miracle Deep Condish on my hair.  That left my hair soft.  At the time, I'm reading books, forums, going to plenty of websites and going to A LOT of pages on Facebook…LOL  One thing that I read that I thought was interesting wasthat a person hair goes anywhere between ½ to 1’ a month.  I hope that by April I will have 3 inches.  I decided to transition with roll-sets, a sew-in and braids.

Why Natural???

August 2010, I decided to go Natural.  The reason behind this decision was so that I, Ms. Jones, could fall back in love with myself.  For years, I have been living according to other people standards.  I’ve gained weight and decided that it was time for me to make changes with my weight, along with my overall appearance. My goal is to do my BC by April, but no later than June.  My last relaxer was August 2010; therefore, I have been relaxer free for eight complete months.  As a kid (young adult) I would normally get relaxers about every three to four months.  When I got older, I would get them every six weeks.
